Challenge
As a global leader with complex operational requirements, Southco needed more than just a product catalog—they needed a fully functional, scalable eCommerce platform that could support a diverse international customer base and integrate deeply with their internal systems.
Their existing Magento 1 (Enterprise) setup functioned primarily as a catalog and lacked essential eCommerce capabilities. The challenges included:
- Outdated infrastructure that limited scalability and performance
- No native support for multi-warehouse inventory, regional stores, or dynamic tax rules
- A need for deep integration with a custom ERP system to sync large volumes of product, customer, and order data
- Complex global requirements, including multi-language support, GeoIP-based redirection, and region-specific catalogs
- Need for optimized shipping logic, payment gateway integration, and a streamlined checkout experience
Our Role
We’ve worked with Southco since February 2017, supporting their Magento journey from a legacy catalog system to a modern, enterprise-grade global storefront. Our role included full platform migration, complex ERP integration, and ongoing maintenance.

On the first stage Magento web store was integrated with custom ERP in the way to get regular updates from ERP (new products, products bulk transfer, product info updates, price updates, stock qty and stock status updates, order status updates) as well as push data to ERP when required by business processes (orders, customers, customer updates, etc) We've migrated Southco web store from Magento 1 (Magento Enterprise) to Magento 2 Commerce (Cloud), implemented Multi Warehouse Inventory. Distinguishing features of that multistore: multiple countries, GeoIP, multiple languages, translations and a separate store with a different product set is running on the same instance on a custom domain.
After migration, we are providing Magento support and maintenance services, installing various Magento Patches and upgrading Magento version to the latest one on a regular basis.
