Automotive Custom Features
OEM Paint Select Feature
To help automotive enthusiasts and professionals easily find the right paint match, we developed a custom OEM Paint Selector for Eastwood. This selector connects directly to their OEM Select paint line that can mix matched automotive paint. With the ability to match over 75,000 OEM colors, Eastwood’s system allows customers to order extremely precise paint matches for nearly any make, model, and year—whether restoring a classic or touching up a modern vehicle.

How does it work?
Through the OEM Selector tool on the site:
- Users select their vehicle’s make, model, year, and OEM paint code
- Matching Eastwood paint products are shown automatically
- If a paint isn’t listed, Eastwood offers a custom mixing option to produce it on demand
This feature is fully integrated into Eastwood’s Magento platform, combining smart product discovery with backend fulfillment logic, and serves as a standout B2C customization that enhances user experience.
Custom Delivery Conditions
Eastwood offers an extensive catalog of automotive tools and equipment—including items that vary widely in size, weight, and shipping requirements. To address this, we developed a Custom Delivery Conditions feature tailored for their Magento store.
Key capabilities include:
- Displaying item-specific delivery requirements (e.g., freight truck, oversized items, liftgate service) directly on the product page
- Real-time delivery cost calculation based on the product’s shipping profile and the customer’s location
- An option for customers to exclude certain services—for example, if a customer has their own loading dock or forklift, they can deselect liftgate service and reduce the delivery cost accordingly
Hazardous Product Shipping Logic
Some automotive products sold by Eastwood are classified as hazardous materials—such as paints, chemicals, and flammable substances—which come with strict shipping restrictions. To handle these complexities, we developed a custom Hazardous Product Shipping Logic feature that ensures compliance while streamlining order processing.
Key capabilities include:
- Dynamically applying shipping method restrictions, such as prohibiting air delivery or international shipment for flammable goods
- Adjusting available shipping options and rates based on the specific contents of the order
- Enforcing state-specific restrictions, where certain hazardous ingredients may be banned or limited (e.g., California’s Prop 65 compliance or VOC limits in select regions)
This logic ensures that hazardous materials are shipped legally and safely, while minimizing delays and manual intervention. It also helps customers understand why certain shipping options may be unavailable based on their location and selected products.
